An idea I had early on in the idea generation process was to make a book trailer for a book I, myself had written. I planned to make the actual book writing process a part of the project as I was planning on making weekly videos, updating people on my process with the book and how it was going. I got the inspiration for creating weekly videos about the book's progress form polandbananasBOOKS on YouTube. Below is the first book writing episode polandbananasBOOKS made: My overall plan was to make a series of book writing journals and a book trailer at the end of the project as well as writing an actual book. I believe that this idea will succeed a sI love to write and I have wanted to write a book for a long time. Also, this project will give me an excuse to make a video production diary and this is something I've always wanted to try out.

One of my more structured ideas is to create a mockumentary based around fandom. My basic outside of the mockumentary so far is as follows:
There is a character who is investigating into fandoms and how they work, what fans are like, etc. It is in a documentary format and will be presented as such. The investigator will be interviewing fans through either video chat or in person. These fans however will be obsessive fans and are basically a major exaggeration of 'fangirls' and 'fanboys'. With this project, I am wanting to kind of make a joke of the fandom culture but not in a negative way. I am simply exaggerating what 'fanpeople' are like to show how ridiculous it is to judge people who are big fans of something. the reason I'm doing this is because sometimes, being a 'major' fan of something is considered strange when its not and it is a normal thing. Therefore, I want to make a joke out of the fact that some people think being a 'fangirl'/'fanboy' is strange. I am not too experienced with writing comedy and therefore, this is new for me. However, I have analysed several mockumentaries and I hope this is enough information to enable me to write a good piece. Overall, I believe this idea will succeed as I have had experience in making documentaries before and I can still use some f those skills with this project. I also have a list of people in mind to act/help me out with this project. This idea is basically a stereotypical YouTube channel where we would post challenges, vlogs, reviews, etc. However, we would act as Shadowhunetrs characters while making these stereotypical videos. As a group, we all wrote this list of video ideas. - Review a product (Comedic value). - Discuss favourite music, movies, celebrities, top 5 videos, etc. - Haul videos. - Sing, covers, etc. - Room tour. - Prized possessions video. - Cooking video. - Make-up tutorial (Magnus, comedic value). - Life lessons video, personal experiences, etc. - Teach dance moves (comedic value). - Teach magic (Magnus, comedic value). - How to be a parent, pet owner, etc. - What's in my bag, swap costumes. - Omegle video. - Morning routine. - 10 things to do when you're board. - Food tasting video. - Draw my life. - Scars video. - Play with kids toy set. - React to the Shadowhunetrs TV series. - Tutorial videos. - Lip sync dance video (comedic value). - Re-make vines (specifically ones we reacted to in our try not to laugh challenge). This list will be updated as our project goes on. Overall, we believe that these ideas will help us build up some kind of audience and make the best content we can. We believe that this channel will attract people who are already fans of the story of Shadowhunters, whether this be the tv show, the movie or the books. The reason being, we are fans of some kind of medium following this story ourselves, I myself am a fan of the Netflix TV show. Therefore, if we make videos we feel like we would want to see, we think other fans of Shadowhunters will enjoy our content too.
This idea was not as well thought out as our others. This idea was inspired by a Countryfile project we did earlier in the year. However, unlike the Countryfile project we have already done, this project would be a mockumentary and would be comical.
Our ideas for this project are: - We have a 'posh' presenter who has very little knowledge of the countryside. - We have a professional crew who actually know what they're doing. They tend to get annoyed with the presenter but can't say anything as she is their boss. - The presenter will attempt to interview a cow and various other farm animals, thus reiterating the fact that she has no knowledge of the countryside. - The presenter will proceed to fall down several times. Overall, this idea, we concluded, would more than likely not work out as we didn't really have enough ideas for the project to make it something professional looking and polished. This idea uses a similar premise to the idea of a Shadowhunters YouTube channel. This idea would be either a collection of short episodes or a finale big brother episode including highlights from the season. These episodes/episode would follow four Shadowhunters characters: Izzy, Clary, Magnus and Alec in the big brother house and it would follow their antics.
Here are a couple of ideas we came up with for our episode/s: - Have Izzy attempt to cook a pizza and burn it, setting off the smoke alarm and nearly setting the kitchen on fire. Then she orders in pizza, pretending she made it. - A lot of rivalry between Alec and Clary. - Have a polystyrene head in a hoodie to act as 'Jace'. At this stage, the being stuck in the house has driven Clary insane. These are the ideas we came up with for this project. However, more ideas would be developed later on. We planned to use a multi camera set up and have a vlogging camera which the characters would be allowed to use, we would have a 'hidden' camera or two and we would have a one camera set up in the diary room. Overall, we believe this project would succeed as we know that Shadowhunetrs fans (being that ourselves) would like to see this. This would also be an opportunity to offer something we have not seen been done before online. At the beginning of our project, we had several ideas:
- A big brother parody, using the characters from the popular Netflix show Shadowhunters. - A mockumentary in a Countryfile format, featuring a 'posh' presenter who has very little knowledge of the countryside. - A social experiment to test people's sense of observation. We would have someone interview members of the public while some other people in our group will be doing things in the background seeing if the interviewee notices. - A Shadowhunters themed YouTube channel. A channel where we will post stereotypical YouTube videos (challenges, vlogs, etc.) as Shadowhunters characters. We do not anticipate our ideas to change too much throughout the research process as we believe we do have some very solid ideas that we can move forward with. |
